Standing up for the most vulnerable in society
Why we opposed the Government’s welfare bill
The Local Authority area straddles three separate parliamentary constituencies - the Solihull West and Shirley constituency, the Meriden and Solihull East constituency and the two Solihull wards in the Birmingham Hodge Hill and Solihull North constituency.
We currently hold 8 of the 51 seats on Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council. For 10 years, one of the parliamentary seats in our region, Solihull, was represented by Lorely Burt.

Liberal Democrats in Solihull have a long record of action for the community and we always fight hard for local residents on important issues.
Why we opposed the Government’s welfare bill
77 years ago today, the HMT Empire Windrush docked in Essex - marking the beginning of the Windrush generation’s arrival here in the UK.
So we will keep fighting - until we can finally build a society where everyone is free to be who they are.
